How it began

In 2021, 2 Preston residents, were driving up Knoyle Road in Preston when they spotted a sign for Preston Village.

Intrigued to find a new destination in their local area, they followed the signs…

and this was what they found…

After driving around in circles, they realised that this was the 'Preston Village' that the signs referred to.

Preston Village was the collection of old shop and residential buildings in front of the 6 lane carriageway on the A23. .

It just didn’t look or feel like a village as they knew it and just for a moment, Preston Village looked bleak and inhospitable.

But all was not lost.

Preston Village had a long and proud history as a gateway to Brighton and there remained some beautiful heritage buildings and a thriving but hidden local community.

Right there and then, they agreed that they would campaign to put people back in the centre of the Village once more and so the renew Preston Village campaign began.

Preston Village will thrive again.

and yes, its an awful story. But you get the idea.

There’s a beautiful place when you take a moment to look. Let’s return Preston Village to a thriving, walkable, people centred community.
