What challenges need addressing?

Some of challenges that renew Preston Village needs to confront before the Village can thrive again...

Preston Village doesn’t feel safe or enjoyable to walk through

Small pavements, traffic signals that prioritise motor vehicles, HGV’s travelling too fast and too close, poor air quality and major noise pollution all add up to a terrible and unsafe pedestrian experience.

Frequent heavy flooding

Shops, homes and roads have been flooded in multiple flood events in the last 5 years due to insufficient maintenance and drainage relative to the intensity of rainfall into the valley.

Flooding disrupts business and the frequency and severity of flood events is set to increase with Climate Change.
